How do I make my contribution to The Tenerife Project ?

Your teacher will discuss with you the possible ways of making your contribution. It will normally be related to the work you are doing in class, but you can make individual contributions. For example, you might like to submit information about a holiday in Tenefire, covering places of interest, and your own personal experiences of the island and its people.

This project is a medium to long-term project, and it will take at least a year to complete.
Work can be submitted at any time , as soon as it is produced. You do not have to wait until everyone is finished.

All material submitted will be placed on the World Wide Web on North Chadderton School's Homepage....provided the material satisfies the Acceptable Use Policy.

Anyone, from any year, can make contributions. It is open to teachers and students, parents, and governors

All articles/projects/photographs should be submitted to Dr.Overy.
Each curriculum area should have a co-ordinator, preferably the Head of Department, so that articles from each department are forwarded as soon as they have been produced.

The Project requires material to be placed on PC disks. Whatever your choice of article, it will need to be submitted in an electronic form, and this means on a PC disk (3.5 inch) . If the work is done on an Apple Mac, then save the file on a PC- formatted disk.

The material can be either text or graphics.

Text articles can be submitted in a variety of forms, including Microsoft Word (doc) , Ami Pro (sam) or Lotus Word Pro, and Clarisworks (cwk) files. We should be able to convert most word processing files into a form suitable for the website. Alternatively, you could save the files on the wordprocessing package as text (txt) or rich-text-format (rtf).

Graphics and Photographs should be saved as jpg, gif or tif files.

Alternatively, you can supply Dr. Overy with the photographs, and he will scan them, for uploading onto the website !

If you intend to mix graphics with text, then the best way is to make your document by using a Web (html) Editor, to produce your  very own homepages. See Dr.Overy, since some software is available for making these pages.
